GigCity means that SAGE has access to a 1 gigabit business grade internet connection at a very good price. Prior to GigCity we only could only justify paying for 100 megabytes. Having this speed means we are not constrained by bandwidth required to do just about anything we need.
This benefits our many remote offices and travelling staff who can access all of SAGE's internal systems at high speed. It also benefits access to cloud platforms, allowing us to do things like backup our server infrastructure to the cloud for disaster recovery.
In addition, as we develop our Big Data management strategy we will be able to manage and develop our technologies unrestrained.
